A note from the departing CCO

My journey at Rodeo, the two-time top-ranking Best Performing SaaS company in the Netherlands, has been an extraordinary one. As soon as I started, I sensed it was not an ordinary place to work. The unique and refreshing Laissez Faire management style of Pieter (our CEO) set the tone for an environment where experimentation was not just encouraged but celebrated in true start-up style.

I can vividly remember our humble beginnings in a small room in an iconic building on the Singel in Amsterdam. We started as a tight-knit team, working shoulder to shoulder. Everyone was putting in maximum effort to turn our company's dreams into reality. From those early days, we have grown exponentially, evolving from just 4 full-time employees into a mature and thriving company with over 45 dedicated professionals.

What truly stands out for me at Rodeo is the formation of a solid company culture that guides every aspect of our work. Along the way, we have really streamlined our processes creating a more efficient and effective company. This transformation allowed us to expand our activities into new markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Belgium.

One of our crucial ingredients of success has been the sales team. Their closeness, professionalism, and relentless ambition have been key in driving our outbound efforts and closing deals at an impressive pace. Experimentation, automation, and creativity are what really sets their efforts apart. As a result, we were able to approach the market in new ways and play an important role in our initial expansion and Go To Market strategy.

From a marketing perspective, our journey has been equally progressive. We made a bold pivot from Paid Advertising to a strong focus on SEO. This has resulted in a new and improved website, adding multiple social media channels and exponential growth in our online presence providing Rodeo with a strong predictable inbound lead source. The use of these new channels also allowed us to connect with our target market more effectively and expand our reach. Additionally, our collaboration with the sales and product teams has improved significantly thanks to the efforts of our new combined interdepartmental meetings and our dedicated product marketeer.

If asked about my legacy at Rodeo, I would say it was built on a foundation of setting colleagues up for success! Where customer-first thinking, data-driven choices, pushing boundaries, and nurturing talents define the future.

Cheers~ Bart-Jan Hin
